Nobody in my family has ever gone to college. Why should I be interested in College & Career Fest 2019 ?Why not be the first ? Doing something for the first time can be difficult and a little frightening, but a college education can be a source of pride for you—and your family. Start a tradition of your own and be the first.
College Fest Regional Map
Who cares? We do! Do you think your grades aren’t good enough. You’ll never know if you don’t apply. Colleges look at a lot more than just grades. They look at letters of recommendations from teachers or other adults, extracurricular activities, past jobs, special talents in music, art, sports, etc. and one-on-one interviews. It’s the whole person—not just grades—that a college accepts.
College Is Too Expensive
College is too expensive. There is over $30 billion in financial aid out there waiting for students who need money for college. If you apply and demonstrate a need for it, your chances are as good as anybody else’s that you will receive help. But it won’t come if you don’t apply.
Don't Know How To Apply
I don’t know how to apply to a college, much less where I want to go.You’re not alone. The place to start is your school’s career counseling office, library or the internet. There you will find college catalogs and other helpful materials. You can also ask the adults in your life; teachers, coaches, relatives and others can be of great assistance.
College & Careers
I hear college may be difficult.Like anything, it will take some hard work. College is a big change from high school—the competition is tougher and so is the homework. You also have to factor in the new surroundings and new friends. The bottom line? You will get out of it just what you put into it. And if you find yourself not doing well in certain courses, every college has resources than can help, such as tutoring, counseling, etc.
Let’s face it: you’ll never know what you missed if you don’t come to Career Fest 2019.
It’s all under one roof— special thanks to The Macon-Bibb Chamber of Commerce, The 100 Black Men of Macon-Middle Georgia & Work Source Georgia. Major colleges, universities, technical institutions, branches of the military, businesses and industries from around the U.S. are planning to attend and there will never be a better opportunity to envision all of the possibilities.
Best of all, it’s free.
